Long Forgotten

rolling along,

I pass by some trees.

I hear them whisper,

seems like they know me.

they smile and they laugh,

at my ignorant bliss.

seems I've forgotten

one of my previous times.

when I was a warrior,

hair braided down my strong back.

fierce and protective

of my family,

and tribe.

seems I've long forgotten,

these simpler of times.

I can hear the trees whisper,

their hellos, and good byes.

What are a few false perceptions you think people have about you?

--the biggest one is, that I just don't care. I tend to not wear my heart on my sleeve, so people tend assume that I just don't give a fuck. but in reality, I do care. often, more than I am willing to show.

all from previous life lessons...*smiles* but it's not as if I do not give the benefit of the doubt. after all, I don't think every1 is out to do wrong...

Lay In Stagnation

If I try to forget

the things done in my past,

I'd repeat myself daily

and lay in stagnation.

an un-improved life,

a spirit without lessons.

no point in love,

if you've forgotten hate.

no point in happiness,

if you can't understand anger.

no point in life,

if you don't know how to live.

lessons all necessary,

lessons all learned.

you can't know appreciation

without failing at first.
